Many people worry about an ominous date – the year 2034. This is the date that pundits say Social Security will ’fail’. First off – it’s important to note that Social Security will not fail on this date. Why do I say this? Because the Trust is currently running at a surplus. This date is the date when the surplus runs out and Social Security is forced to pay out what it brings in – which is vastly different than Social Security failing

This also ignores the very real hammer that will come down if social security recipients only get what is future funded – there are 69 million voters who politicians do not want to upset. This video discusses what lies ahead to fix the shortfall issue and keep a vital segment of voters happy.
